Vincent Bach in conjunction with GEWA are immensely proud and delighted to announce that the internationally renowned trumpet soloist and educator Frits Damrow, has signed as a Bach trumpet artist.
Following an extensive selection process, Frits chose to play a Bb trumpet model 190S37 and a C trumpet model C190SL229, after being hugely impressed by the excellent quality, consistency, and sound of Bach trumpets.
We are delighted that our renewed artist relationship with Frits will extend opportunities for Bach to inspire trumpet artists at every level, and offer access to the unique wealth of knowledge and playing hints and tips, that only a prestigious artist such as Frits Damrow can offer.
Frits Damrow began his musical career as principal trumpet of the Radio Symphony Orchestra of the Netherlands when he was just 21 and still studying at the Maastricht Conservatory. After 9 years he was appointed as principal trumpet of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam holding this position from 1991 until 2010. He was also active as a trumpet teacher at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam from 1993 until 2010.
Since 2009 Fritz Damrow has been Professor of trumpet at the University of the Arts in Zürich, Switzerland (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste) and has become one of the most sought-after lecturers worldwide, regularly invited to international festivals and masterclasses as a soloist and lecturer. Also a successful author, the ‘Frits Damrow Trumpet Collection’ comprises a variety of published books on method, exercise, and solo literature.
