How did you get to open your store? What is the story behind it?
The store was founded in 1933 by our grandparents Helene and Werner Rudert. Our parents, Elisabeth Ruoss-Rudert and Jörg Ruoss took over the business in 1979, and now we, Christian and Johannes Rouss, are the third generation to run the company. The fourth generation is already on board and is actively involved in the media technology sector.
Which highlights in your store would you like to tell us about?
Because of our many workshops and concerts there are a lot of stories worth telling.
One of them is that in the 80's we sold Steve Jobs, the APPLE founder and visionary, a grand piano to his studio in California. The contact came about through Jobs' designer, who came from the small town of Altensteig in the Freudenstadt district.
Why do you sell Ovation Guitars and what do you think is unique about this brand?
There are countless brands. We carry few but carefully selected brands. Ovation guitars are indispensable from our point of view due to their unique construction, superior live stage performance and incredible history. If we look at the list of guitarists who perform on stage with Ovation guitars, we find world-famous artists from folk music to rock, pop, fusion and heavy metal. In this respect, Ovation belongs to the very big brands of the scene.
